(a) All Callurian passports issued for the purpose of international travel shall include a Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) conforming to the standards set forth in this section. The MRZ shall enable automated reading of passport data at international borders and checkpoints.
(b) The MRZ shall be printed using the OCR-B typeface, in accordance with the specifications of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Document 9303.
(c) The MRZ shall contain the following mandatory elements:
(1) Nationality Code: The nationality of the passport holder shall be encoded as CAL, designating Calluris.
(2) Issuing State or Organization: The issuance code shall be listed as CAL.
(3) Other data as prescribed by international standards, including but not limited to: the holder’s name, passport number, date of birth, sex, date of expiry, and personal number or ID code.
Applicability of paragraph (c)(3)
(a) The sex marker displayed on a Callurian passport shall not be considered an indicator of the passport holder’s gender identity. It exists solely for the purposes of administrative compatibility ICAO Document 9303.
(b) All individuals, regardless of assigned sex at birth shall have the unrestricted right to request a change to the sex marker on their passport at any time, for any reason, without medical, psychological, or legal bar.
